Pacfort at the GEA Impact Conference 2025: Driving Sustainable Innovation Together

The GEA Global Supplier Summit in Amsterdam brought together some of the world’s most forward-thinking manufacturing and technology partners, and Pacfort was proud to be among them. With sustainability, efficiency, and innovation at the heart of every discussion, the summit showcased how global supply chains can evolve to meet climate targets without compromising performance.

This year’s event focused heavily on GEA’s Climate Transition Plan 2040: their commitment to achieving Net Zero across the entire value chain by 2040. This ambition isn’t limited to reducing their own emissions; it includes helping customers transition to climate-neutral manufacturing and ensuring responsible, circular supply chains.

Why Pacfort Was There

Our attendance was driven by two key goals:

  • Strengthening relationships and networking with global partners
  • Showcasing how Pacfort’s engineered paper solutions support GEA’s sustainability agenda

Remarkably, it had only been a year since Pacfort first introduced itself to GEA. Fast-forward twelve months, our Head of Business Development Niklas Leibacher and CEO Murad Hijjawi were welcomed in Amsterdam as valuable contributors to GEA’s sustainability journey – despite being one of their newest suppliers.

In fact, Pacfort was highlighted as one of only a few suppliers delivering sustainable innovations that have directly benefited the GEA Group, being nominated among a select group for their Innovation Award recognising technologies that help GEA differentiate through environmental performance.

How Pacfort Supports GEA’s Sustainability Mission

GEA’s climate plan prioritises cutting emissions, reducing resource consumption, and designing circular production systems. Pacfort helps accelerate these goals by:

  • Providing engineered paper packaging solutions that replace traditional materials like wood, plastics, and foams
  • Reducing waste and carbon outputs through lightweight, recyclable honeycomb-based designs
  • Supporting climate-neutral supply chains, thanks to products made using paper and water-based adhesive alone
  • Offering scalable innovation, helping GEA improve efficiency and sustainability simultaneously

Our technologies allow GEA to transition faster toward the circular, low-impact systems outlined in their Net Zero 2040 strategy without compromising on quality or efficiency.

Key Takeaways from the Summit

The summit emphasised a growing industry-wide theme: sustainability must be measurable, science-based, and integrated into long-term business strategy.

Some of our biggest takeaways include:

  • The importance of setting science-based climate targets
  • A rising demand for suppliers with circular, low-emission products
  • The need to align with credible sustainability standards such as EcoVadis — a step Pacfort is now actively working toward
  • Innovation as a competitive advantage, especially when it directly supports customers’ climate goals

The message was clear: companies that innovate sustainably don’t just reduce impact — they build resilience, unlock efficiency, and gain strategic value in their supply chains.

A Step Forward for Pacfort

Being recognised by GEA as a key partner in their sustainability transition is a milestone for us. It reinforces our mission to push engineered paper technologies further and support global manufacturers on their journey toward greener production.

With only a year passing between our first interaction with GEA and our inclusion amongst some of the key sustainability contributors being recognised at the summit is an achievement that highlights how quickly meaningful impact can be created when innovation, sustainability, and partnership align.

Looking Ahead

With new relationships formed, new opportunities identified, and strengthened alignment with science-based sustainability targets, Pacfort is excited to continue supporting GEA and other partners aiming for climate-neutral operations.

The summit reaffirmed what drives us: creating high-performance packaging made from nature, inspired by nature, and designed for a circular future.
